18–12 Months

  • Set budget range and guest count band.

  • Choose season, vibe, and must haves (indoor/outdoor, band/DJ).

  • Shortlist venues; tour and compare dates, capacity, rain plan.

  • Begin dress research; book your first appointments (9–12 months out).

  • If using a planner, interview and hire now.


11–9 Months

  • Secure venue + date.

  • Book photographer & videographer, entertainment, caterer, and florist.

  • Launch wedding website & registry; reserve hotel room block.

  • Engagement session if desired (great for save the dates).


8–6 Months

  • Say “yes” to the dress and place the order.

  • Choose bridesmaid styles/colors; order attire.

  • Hair & makeup trials; lock stylists.

  • Design invitations; plan transportation.


5–4 Months

  • Choose accessories: veil, topper/bolero/jacket (seasonal), jewelry, shoes.

  • Finalize menu and rentals.

  • Schedule alterations (first fitting typically 6–8 weeks out).


3 Months

  • Mail invitations (8–10 weeks out; 12+ for destination).

  • Draft day-of timeline and shot list with photo/video.

  • Purchase wedding bands.


2 Months

  • First fitting; bring shoes/undergarments/accessories.

  • Order day-of stationery (programs, menus, place cards).

  • Start seating plan approach.


1 Month

  • Second fitting; finalize bustle.

  • Confirm final headcount, vendor arrival times, and tips.

  • Beauty tune ups; break in shoes.


Week-Of

  • Pick up dress; steam veil/gown.

  • Pack emergency kit and assign point people.

  • Rehearsal & dinner; finalize payments and tip envelopes.
