FAQ With Our Sweet J. Major’s Bride Maria Wolf

Maria’s wedding photos are nothing short of breathtaking. Head over to her Instagram @mariasgoingout to see the stunning moments from her big day, we're honored to have been a part of it.

1) How did you meet your husband?

We met on Hinge! I had been living in Charlotte via Airbnb to see if I would feel comfortable making the move from Wisconsin. Within two weeks of landing in the city, I fell in love! My best friend (and MOH) encouraged me to get on Hinge and check out the dating scene before fully committing. I scoffed (I did NOT want to date! Plus, I see guys walking around everywhere. No need), but she made some good points, and I ended up downloading the app.

Jaycob's smiled popped up on my screen and I decided to make an exception. After a playful conversation on Hinge and a couple short phone calls, we met in person at Noble Smoke for dinner.

2) How did you know he was the one?

About a month or so into dating, I came down with an illness and couldn't go on the date he had planned. To my surprise, he brought epsom salt and dark chocolate and drew me a bath. He was so compassionate and careful with me. He even brushed my hair! Even though we hadn't said "I love you" yet his actions made me feel loved beyond words. I said to myself, "I'm either marrying him - or I will be single forever. He's the only one I will ever want to be with."

3) What advice would you give to other brides planning their big day?

Weddings are a whirlwind of beauty, emotion, and logistics, but here’s my little mantra:

  • When things get overwhelming or emotions run high, pause and choose gratitude.

  • And when the joy feels so big it scares you, don’t dim it. Don’t try to “be cool.” Let it overflow. Dance, cry, laugh loud. You get to feel it all.

Maria's testimonial about J. Major's:

"After a few deflating appointments at other bridal salons (poor customer service, small sections, and cheap fabrics with luxe prices) I was down the Pinterest rabbit hole to find a better solution. I came across a thumb stopping dress - Olivia by Jenny Yoo. I started emailing bridal salons all over the Carolinas to find her. The staff at J. Majors was quick to respond to my email confirming they had a sample and the appointment was a dream. When I saw the dress on the hanger, I was a little underwhelmed. Had I come all this way for nothing? No worries- I loved being able to look through the rack and explore other options. The customer service was fantastic and I loved how private the shopping experience felt. When I finally did slip on the dress I had hunted down from Pinterest, it was BRIDAL BLISS! I felt like the dress had been made specifically for me. The consultants at J. Majors must have seen this magical moment before, because they were incredibly patient when I lost track of time twirling around in my dress for the rest of the appointment."
