Most bridal shops buy from designers, and the buyer, the stylist, and the owner are all different people. At J. Major's, that's all me. I'm the buyer, the designer, the owner and one of the stylists on the floor.
I'm in this boutique every single day. I style appointments, I listen, and I hear what Charlotte brides are dreaming of, and sometimes, what they can't quite find anywhere else. It's where my designs come from. We're one shop, one city, and every collection I work on is shaped by real conversations with real brides, right here in this bridal shop.
When you come in, you're getting to work with the person who heard what brides like you wanted, and then went and made it.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Before you arrive, you'll answer a few quick questions about your style, your wedding, and what you're dreaming of. Your stylist uses that to curate a selection before you walk in, so your appointment feels personal from the first moment.
Plan for about 80 minutes. It's private, unhurried, and just for you and your people. Your stylist will guide you through the fitting, help you read what you're feeling in each dress, and give you honest, caring guidance the whole way.
Most brides leave knowing. Some say yes that same day. Either way, there's no pressure, just the right dress, found the right way.

Ravi participated in Habitat for Humanity's CEO Build as a Charlotte business leader. Separately, we've supported Women Build, the Habitat Charlotte initiative that has empowered women in this city since 1991. In February 2026, we hosted a Jenny Yoo sample sale and directed 50% of the proceeds to Women Build. We're also proud sponsors of Charlotte Youth Ballet.
These aren't marketing programs. They're just where we show up. A national chain can open a location in South End. It can't be from here.

We carry ten luxury bridal collections featuring bridal dresses across every style, from romantic and flowing to structured and modern, including Jenny Yoo, Essense of Australia, Martina Liana, Rosa Clará, La Premiere, and more, chosen by Madison based on what Charlotte brides are actually asking for. Gowns range from $1,200 to $6,500, with styles across every budget.

Our Charlotte bridal boutique carries plus size wedding dresses and extended sizes up to 32 by special order. Our stylists are experienced at helping you envision any gown in your size.

We're in the Steel Yard building at 1900 South Blvd, Suite 150, a short walk from the East/West Blvd Light Rail Station and right around the corner from Barcelona Wine Bar. Free parking is in the garage at 1910 South Blvd; bring your ticket inside and we'll validate it.
Brides come to us from across Charlotte - Dilworth, Myers Park, Plaza Midwood, Ballantyne, Concord, and beyond. South End is an easy drive or a single light rail stop from most of the city, and the neighborhood makes for a genuinely lovely afternoon out with the people you're bringing with you. J. Major's is one of Charlotte's most established bridal shops, family-owned since 1984 and rooted in this city in every sense of the word.
